Privacy Policy
Roe Apps LLC ("Roe Apps," "we," "us") builds SynthViz, AudioWarp, Video Looper, and Backcheck. Our apps are designed to need as little of your data as possible — most of what they do happens entirely on your own device. This policy explains what we collect on our websites and through purchases, what our apps deliberately do not collect, and the choices you have.
1What our desktop apps do on your device
The core work of our apps runs locally on your Mac and never leaves it:
- AudioWarp captures and retunes audio in real time on your machine. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Backcheck analyzes your webcam feed locally to detect posture. Your camera image never leaves your device.
- Video Looper records and processes video and audio loops locally; your recordings and projects stay on your machine unless you export or save them yourself.
- SynthViz generates sound and visuals locally.
The apps contain no advertising, no behavioral tracking, and no usage telemetry. They do not phone home, apart from the license check described below.
2License validation
When you activate a paid license, the app sends your license key and a device identifier to our licensing service to confirm the key is valid and to enforce the number of devices allowed. This exchange involves the key and device identifier only — no audio, video, camera images, or the content you create.
3Information collected on our websites
Our websites and browser versions (for example roeapps.com and the free web apps) use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring links. This uses cookies and similar technologies and involves your IP address. We use it only to improve our sites and products, never to identify you personally.
4Purchases
Payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. When you buy, Paddle collects the information needed to complete your order — such as your name, email address, billing details, payment method, and country for tax. Roe Apps receives only limited order information from Paddle (for example your email, the product bought, order/receipt reference, and country) so we can deliver your license and provide support. We never receive or store your full payment-card number. See Paddle's own privacy notice for how it handles your data.
5Support
If you email support@roeapps.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it only to help you.
6How we use information
- to deliver and validate licenses and provide the apps;
- to process orders and provide receipts (through Paddle);
- to respond to support requests;
- to understand aggregate website usage and improve our products; and
- to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
7Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share the limited data above only with service providers that make our business run — namely Paddle (payments and tax), Cloudflare (hosting and the licensing service), and Google Analytics (website analytics) — and only as needed for those purposes, or where required by law.
8Retention
We keep order and license records for as long as needed to support your license and to meet legal and tax requirements, then delete or anonymize them. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
9Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email support@roeapps.com. You can also decline non-essential cookies, use a browser Do-Not-Track or analytics opt-out, and revoke camera or microphone permissions at any time in your operating system settings.
10Children
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11International transfers
We and our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above and note significant changes on this page.
